Bashar al-Assad visits Oman

WORLD, Feb. 20 (YPA) – Syrian President Bashar Al Assad arrived in Muscat for a working visit to Oman on Monday.

President al-Assad and Sultan Haitham bin Tareq held talks at Al Baraka Al-Amer Palace in Muscat in the presence of the two official delegations. Sultan bin Tareq extended his sincere condolence to President al-Assad and the Syrian people over the devastating earthquake.

His Majesty underscored that his country will continue its stand by Syria till the country overcome the quake aftermath as well as the siege imposed on the Syrian people.

President al-Assad, for his part, voiced his gratitude to Sultan Haitham and the Omani people over their solidarity with Syria and sending the relief aids, underlining that the big thank is for Oman’s stance in support of Syria during the terrorist war imposed on it.

The talks touched upon the fraternal relations and the areas of joint cooperation, where the two sides agreed to further enhance the bilateral collaborating and uplifting it in all domains, with President al-Assad asserting that exchanged trust and deep understanding strongly link the two countries.

The two sides tackled the latest developments on the international and regional arenas in addition to the efforts aiming at strengthening the security and stability in the region.

President al-Assad considered that The Sultanate has always preserved its balanced policy as well as its credibility, and that the region needs its role that serves their peoples on the basis of the exchanged respect and non-interference in the affairs of other states.

Sultan bin Tareq, in turn, said that Syria is a brotherly country and that Oman is looking forward to see it returning to their sound relations with all other Arab States.
