LAHJ, Feb. 14 (YPA) – Armed confrontations broke out among the Saudi-led coalition’s factions on Tuesday in the province of Lahj, south of Yemen.
local sources in the province affirmed the clashes erupted between the so-called National Shield Forces, including Salafist groups, backed by Saudi Arabia, and tribal militants in the Jabal Kharaz area of Al-Sabiha area, after they established military sites and fortifications in the area.
The sources pointed out that the confrontations left a number of wounded, most of whom were tribesmen, without revealing the final result, after a tribal mediation intervened to contain the situation.
The coalition countries, through Saudi Arabia, tend to booby-trap coastal areas near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the international trade corridor, by spreading extremist groups from Salafist elements and al-Qaeda, who arrived in Aden and Lahj after taking military training in Saudi camps.
