Clashes break out between tribesmen, Islah militants in Marib

MARIB, Feb. 11 (YPA) – Violent armed confrontations erupted on Friday evening, between tribes and Islah militants in Wadi Obeida, southeast of Marib.

Tribal sources in Marib province told the Yemen Press Agency that violent clashes broke out between the Al-Qammad tribes and Islah road security forces in Wadi Obeida.

The sources pointed out that the “Road Security forces” launched a large-scale attack on the tribes of “Al Qammad” in the area of “Kari”, in which they used all kinds of weapons.

According to the sources, the tribesmen were able to repel the attack and inflicted heavy losses on Islah militants in lives and equipment and forced them to flee towards the “Al Fahih” area after two armored vehicles were destroyed near the “Qammad” station.
