One STC militia member killed, three others injured in bomb attack in Abyan

ABYAN, Feb. 05 (YPA) – At least one militia member of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) was killed and three others injured in an improvised explosive device blast in Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources said.

According to the sources, the explosive device exploded and targeted a military pickup vehicle carrying members of Eighth Thunderbolt Brigade affiliated with the STC in Wadi Omran in the Mudiyah district, killing one and injuring three others, two of them in critical condition.

Since last August, the Islah militants have continued to deplete the STC forces in Abyan governorate in response to their exclusion from Shabwah and Abyan governorates and its attempt to transfer the forces of the first military region from Wadi Hadhramaut to Marib governorate.
