SANAA, Feb. 02 (YPA) – Ministry of Expatriate Affairs in Sanaa condemned the arbitrary actions by Saudi authorities to arrest a Yemeni woman pilgrim after being performed Umrah pilgrimage.
The ministry said in a statement that Marwa Abed Rabbo Al-Sabri, was prosecuted by th Saudi authorities after being arrested because of her refusal to insult a Saudi employee working as a policewoman in Macca city.
The statement denounced also the employment of the reaction of the Yemeni citizen Al-Sabri, by the Saudi security system and accusing her of possessing bombs to justify the issuance of a court ruling that sentenced her to one year in prison.
The statement indicated that the Saudi security employee verbally attacked and abused the Yemeni people, insulted and arrested 29-year-old Marwa Al-Sabri, from Bayda province, while entering the gate of the Grand Mosque in Mecca to perform Umrah.
The ministry’s statement called on international human rights and organizations and the United Nations to condemn the arbitrary practices of the Saudi authorities against Yemenis into Saudi territories, provide them with legal protection, and oblige the Saudi regime to respect laws in accordance with the provisions of international agreements.
