Popular protest rally in Sanaa denounces burning of copy of Holy Quran in Sweden

SANAA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – A popular protest rally took place on Monday in the capital Sanaa to denounce the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

The rally, the angry masses raised chants and slogans refusing to offend Islamic sanctities, and calling for an Islamic movement towards anyone who targets the sanctities of the nation.

The participants strongly condemned what happened in Sweden of the crime of burning copies of the Quran Book, considered it a hostile step in the series of war on Islam.

This crime is behind the Zionist lobby that controls the West, the West has to liberate from the Jewish Zionism’s dominance, the protesters added.

During the march, Grand Mufti of Yemen, the religious scholar Shams al-Din Sharaf al-Din, delivered a speech in which he called on the Islamic peoples to move and revolt to defend the Holy Qur’an in the face of all violators of Allah’s sanctity.

He called on all Muslim scholars to carry out their responsibilities in directing the nation in the right way to stir anger against the violation of Allah’s sanctities and to fulfill their duties towards this responsibility.

Sharaf al-Din also demanded the Islamic countries to sever diplomatic relations with Sweden and every country declaring aggression against Islamic sanctities.

He called on the State of Sweden to take measures to prevent the repeated malicious practices towards Islam religion.
