Mass rally in Saada condemns burning of copy of Holy Quran in Sweden

SAADA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – A mass rally took place in the city of Saada, northern Yemen, on Monday to denounce the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by the tools of the Zionist Jewish lobby in Sweden’s capital of Stockholm.

The demonstrators expressed their anger at the anti-Islam move by a notorious extremist politician to desecrate a copy of the Holy Quran.

They deplored the silence of some Arab and Islamic regimes toward this crime.

The governor of Saada Mohammad Jaber Awad gave a speech in which he deplored the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran under the protection of the Swedish police.

He pointed out that this comes as part of a series of acts hostile to Islam and the sanctities of Muslims.

Awad held the government of Sweden fully responsible for the results of this heinous criminal act, calling on Muslims and free people in the world to march in anger against this criminal act, and for its strong response to insulting the Holy Quran.

He called for an investigation into this crime, considering that burning a copy of the Quran is an insult and shamelessness, and comes within a series of Western measures hostile to Islam.

During the rally, words and poems were delivered denouncing the repeated abuses of the Holy Quran and prophets by the West. They referred to the Zionist role and Jewish lobbies in spreading hatred against Muslims and their sanctities.

The protesters, in a statement issued during the rally, called on the peoples of the world to boycott American and Israeli goods, and for Muslims to have a firm stand in front of this crime that provoked the feelings of Muslims.

It pointed out that the US brought evil to the world through the influence of the Jewish lobby, recalling America’s crimes in the world.

“How can countries that claim freedom allow public burning of Allah’s holy book under the protection of the police,” the statement wondered.
