Al-Hamli calls for coordination between Humanitarian Affairs Council, ICRC delegation

SANAA, Jan. 21 (YPA) – Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, stressed the need for coordination between the Council and the ICRC delegation to facilitate the implementation of the delegation’s activities in Yemen.

This came during Al-Hamli’s meeting today with the new head of the ICRC delegation to Yemen, Daphnée Maret.

Al-Hamli expressed the hope that the work of the ICRC delegation would continue at a serious pace and that what was agreed upon with the committee in the previous period would be implemented.

He noted the need to direct efforts to implement projects and interventions of a sustainable nature, according to the priorities of need, urging the ICRC delegation to intensify its interventions in the central correctional facilities.

For her part, Maret confirmed that the ICRC is concerned with contributing to alleviating the humanitarian crisis and working in a coordination context with the Council to ensure the success of its interventions in the guaranteed manner.

In her turn, the former head of the ICRC delegation, Katharina Ritz, expressed her appreciation for the facilities provided by the Humanitarian Affairs Council to the delegation during its tenure.
