LAHJ, Jan. 15 (YPA) – Yemen’s southern province of Lahj on Sunday witnessed a new tribal uprising against Emirati factions, as public anger continued, demanding the expulsion of the Saudi-led coalition forces and their Presidential Council.
Thousands of tribesmen of Radfan district held protest against the continuing murdering of its sons by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia.
This came after the UAE-backed factions killed two recruits from the Radfan tribes, Majid al-Halimi and Fadel al-Jabali.
Local sources said that gunmen from the Security Belt forces affiliated with the STC fired directly at the demonstrators in an attempt to disperse them, injuring a number of them.
The protesters demanded the departure of all the STC’s units from the directorate, vowing to pursue the STC’s groups to deport them from the province.
The current protests come in the context of a widespread tribal uprising in the districts of Lahj governorate against the Saudi-Emirati coalition factions.
