Civilians killed in Hodeida landmine blast

HODEIDA, Jan. 12 (YPA) – Two civilians were killed on Thursday as a result of landmines explosion in Hodeida province.

Local source affirmed that the landmines were left by the Saudi-led coalition forces earlier, the districts of al-Tahiyta and al-Durayhimi.

This crime came within less than 24 hours of the killing of three civilians, including two children, and the wounding of another, as a result of another mine explosion in al-Durayhimi district.

Since the beginning of the new year, more than 20 civilians have been killed and injured in a number of the provinces as a result of war remnants.

Yemen is witnessing an increasing number of victims of the coalition’s war remnants as a result of the widening area of contamination, in light of the coalition countries’ prevention of entry of mine detectors, and the failure of the United Nations to pressure the coalition countries to enter these devices despite the continuous calls by the Executive Center for Mine Action.
