ADEN, Dec. 29 (YPA) – A local official survived an abduction attempt on Wednesday in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, which is under the control of the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s Militia.
Pro-coalition’s Hodeida Electricity director general, Masawi Hajari, to submitted a report to Bar Association confirming that militia members of the STC on board an “unknown” military vehicle chased him and followed him after he left his house. They intercepted him on the main road heading to the Kaputa police, and they pointed their weapons at him.
According to Hajari, the officers threatened to kill him, trying to kidnap him in front of the police station, where he fled to file a report of an assassination attempt.
They tried to catch him, he said, but they failed and managed to flee to an unknown destination.
Activists from Tihama on social media accused the assassination cells of “Ammar Afash” of being behind the abduction attempt.
It is worth mentioning that the city of Aden is witnessing a security chaos amid the spread of militias with multiple loyalties to local leaders and coalition countries.
