Abdulsalam reveals reasons for Omani delegation’s visit to Sanaa
SANAA, Dec. 21 (YPA) – Head of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, Mohammed Abdulsalam, on Wednesday said that the Omani delegation’s visit comes to convey the ideas and proposals of the discussions with the Saudis and international parties to the political leadership in Sanaa.
Abdulsalam confirmed in a press statement that the Sultanate of Oman is keen to achieve pace in Yemen as a matter of interest and neighborhood and its role in the talks with all parties is important and positive.
“The brothers in Oman provided a lot of support to achieve peace in Yemen and in the humanitarian file, and their frequent visits to Sanaa are evidence of their kind efforts,” he said.
Abdulsalam indicated that the Saudi-led coalition countries targeted the economic side and greatly deepened the economic rift by targeting the bank and the currency.
“If we advance in the humanitarian file, represented in paying salaries and opening airports and ports, we can advance in other files,” he added.
He stressed the need to separate the humanitarian file from the military file, noting that Sanaa’s demands belong to all Yemenis, without exception, throughout the Yemeni territory.
Abdulsalam stated that the coalition makes promises that have no effect regarding the payment of salaries, the end of the siege, and the exit of foreign forces.
Earlier in the day, Abdulsalam arrived in Sanaa accompanied by the Omani delegation.
