Syria’s Foreign Minister affirms his country’s support for Palestine

DAMASCUS, Dec. 13 (YPA) – Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Mekdad on Monday reiterated Syria’s continued support for Palestine and its belief in the centrality of the Palestinian cause at the Arab and international levels.

This came during his discussion with the President of the Palestinian National Council, Ruhi Fattouh, and his accompanying delegation, the developments in the situation in the region, especially at the Palestinian arena.

Mekdad renewed Syria’s condemnation of the practices of the Israeli occupation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

For his part, Fattouh stressed the importance of communication and coordination between Syria and Palestine and the countries that support the Palestinian cause and the struggle of the Palestinian people to obtain their rights and establish their independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.

He reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, and the sacrifices made by the Palestinian people in confronting the Israeli practices aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.
