Sanaa reveals new marine interactions in Yemen’s territorial waters

SANAA, Dec. 05 (YPA) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sanaa government, Hussein Al-Ezzi, revealed on Monday that new interactions occurred inside Yemen’s territorial waters.

Al-Ezzi said on Twitter that an American warship “approached and then left,” adding, “Not approaching our territorial waters is a good and positive thing.”

On Sunday, he warned of the military moves carried out by the US Navy in Yemen’s territorial waters, considering that the US moves in the Yemeni waters constitute a threat to international navigation.

Several observers are expecting that the return of the military escalation in Yemen, after the failure to extend the UN-brokered armistice, may include the maritime front, in light of Washington’s efforts to disturb the maritime shipping lines, by imposing the American military presence in Bab al-Mandab and the Yemeni islands in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
