Coalition-backed government accuses Saudi intelligence of leaking scholarship statements

ADEN, Dec. 04 (YPA) – The coalition government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition on Sunday revealed details on the party that leaked the scholarship sheets that included unprecedented scandals.

According to media sources in the Ministry of Higher Education, Saudi intelligence was behind the leak scholarship sheets.

Sources said that an intelligence officer asked the ministry for a copy of this year’s approved scholarship statements for review.

The motives for Saudi Arabia’s leak of the statements are not yet known, but their timing indicates that Saudi Arabia is trying to avoid the repercussions of its refusal to hand over the $3 billion deposit that it announced months ago on the eve of the formation of the so-called the Riyadh -formed Presidential Council, especially after the coalition -backed government tried to hold it responsible for the deterioration of the situation and try to blackmail it.

The Saudi move, which authorized the Arab Monetary Fund to lead new reforms within the government, indicates its efforts to dry up the sources of looting money within the government, most notably scholarships abroad, which are estimated at 8 and a half million dollars monthly.
