Cold weather, rains to hit several Yemeni provinces within coming hours

SANAA, Nov. 25 (YPA) – The National Meteorological Center said on Friday that a cold weather and rains are expected to hit several Yemeni governorates, calling for taking the necessary precautions in the coming 24 hours.

The center stated in its weather bulletin that cold weather is expected to hit the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar and Bayda, and relatively cold in the highlands of the governorates of Abyan, Lahj, Dhalea, Ibb and desert areas during the night and early morning.

Scattered rains are likely to fall in parts of the western and southwestern highlands, the Socotra archipelago and parts of the interior adjacent to the western coast, the center added.

“Light rains also expected on the southern and eastern coasts, and active winds ranging in speed between 15-30 knots on the south of the western coast, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and the western Gulf of Aden,” according to the center.

The center warned the elderly, children, the sick and workers during the night and early morning to take the necessary precautions to prevent cold weather.
