MUSCOW, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Russia has warned its citizens in European countries of eavesdropping on them by foreign intelligence services, mostly with Israeli programs.
Deputy Director of Russian Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Department, Ivan Nechaev, confirmed that Moscow is closely following the scandal of “the facts that revealed the use of spyware by the authorities of a number of European countries for political purposes.”
He pointed out that according to the draft report, the leadership of a number of European countries, including Poland, Greece and other countries, used spyware, most of which were produced by Israel to spy on unwanted representatives of the opposition, civil society, human rights activists and journalists.
Nechaev affirmed that the European authorities obtained spyware through specialized companies registered in Bulgaria and Cyprus.
