SANAA, Oct. 22 (YPA) – Sanaa authorities on Saturday received a notification from a Korean oil tanker that it had officially left the Yemeni territorial waters.
Media, quoting navigational sources, reported that the ship “Tissos Kia”, which came from a South Korean port and was about to enter Al-Dhaba port to smuggle a new oil shipment, informed the Yemeni Coast Guard that it was in international waters.
The sources noted that the ship had refused to respond before the recent warning attack on Al-Dhaba port.
Sanaa had carried out a “warning” air attack that hit near a ship as it approached Al-Dhaba oil port in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.
According to the spokesman for the Sanaa forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sarie, the attack came after the ship ignored official warnings from Sanaa as part of a strategy to prevent the looting of Yemeni oil.
