STC requests Saudi mediation for reconciliation with “Hadrami” forces

HADRAMOUT, Oct. 19 (YPA) – President of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, has requested Saudi mediation for reconciliation with the “Hadrami forces to pave the way for his visit to Hadramout province next month, southern media reported on Wednesday.

According to tribal sources in the province, Al-Zubaidi wanted to visit Hadramout to meet with Amr bin Habrish, the most prominent tribal leader and the first undersecretary of Hadramout, but the Hadrami forces refused Al-Zubaidi’s visit at this time as an attempt to portray Hadramout as following Aden, which they considered would spark a conflict with other forces.

Al-Zubaidi’s offer of reconciliation came after the STC escalated against these forces and questioned their origins due to their refusal of his factions’ control of the oil plateau (Hadramout).
