Defense Minister stresses confronting coalition forces is irreversible strategic choice

SANAA, Oct. 13 (YPA) – Minister of Defense, Major General Mohammed Nasser al-Atefi, and the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Mohammed Abdul Karim al-Ghomari, affirmed that confronting the Saudi-led coalition forces would be an irreversible strategic choice.

This came in a congratulatory cable sent on Thursday to President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi Al-Mashat and members of the council on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the October 14 Revolution.

“If the enemy wants to ride the wave and return to the military escalation, it does not understand where it is heading because in reality it is moving on hell, and the warnings of our revolutionary leadership represented by Sayyed Abdul Malik Al-Houthi have their aftermath,” al-Atefi said.

The minister pointed out that the Saudi-Emirati coalition backed by American-British enemy, after militarily failing in the fields of honor and dignity, had tried during the last period to use the armistice as a cover to practice what is worse than military war and used the economic and humanitarian file as a pressure card to achieve its malicious results and goals.

“Sanaa’s firm position that there is no armistice unless what has been agreed upon,” al-Atefi added. Let the world know that we will remain on our terms, either a truce that fulfills the people’s demands or a war in which our oppressed people will win for its rights, wealth, and the blood of the martyrs.”
