Parliament’s Speaker appreciates courageous position of Irish representative in European Parliament
SANAA, Oct. 10 (YPA) – The Speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, Yahya Ali al-Ra’i, on Monday sent a letter of thanks in his name and on behalf of the Parliament presidium and members to Ireland’s representative in the European Parliament, Clare Daly, and her fellow Irish independent parliamentarian, Mick Wallace.
Al-Ra’i highly appreciated the Irish parliamentarians’ courageous stances expressing the awakening of human conscience.
In the letter, the Parliament Speaker expressed his thanks to every free and fair voice that stands in defense of the oppressed peoples yearning for freedom and justice, especially the Yemeni and Palestinian peoples, who have suffered greatly due to the imbalance of international balances and the political tyranny of double standards.
“The Yemeni people are still looking for more courageous and daring stances to adopt their cause and grievances in parliamentary and international forums, and to put pressure to stop the aggression and end the siege,” he said.
Al-Ra’i pointed out that the Parliament of the Republic of Yemen, whose constitutional headquarters is in the capital, Sanaa, had previously addressed the international community about these double standards and repeatedly warned of their effects, and demanded to stop these unfair policies against the Yemeni people, and the aggression and siege they have been subjected to for nearly eight years.
He demanded that those unfair policies against the Yemeni people to be stopped, calling for exposing the practice of terrorism with an international cover under the pressure of the countries of hegemony and global arrogance, America and its allies, and not passing this through the United Nations or Parliament The European or the so-called “Arab Parliament.”
The Parliament’s Speaker stressed the importance of seriously orienting to peacemaking and respect for the right of peoples to peaceful coexistence away from any guardianship exercised over independent and sovereign states and peoples over their entire lands, waters, islands and wealth.
He invited the free people in the parliaments of the world to visit Yemen and see closely the extent of the destruction and the catastrophic effects left by the Saudi-Emirati-US-British aggression and the suffering of the Yemeni people, and circumventing the armistice declared under the auspices of the United Nations by the aggression countries.
