Local official survives assassination attempt in Aden

ADEN, Oct. 02 (YPA) – A former local official on Sunday survived an assassination attempt in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, which is under the control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia, local sources reported.

According to the sources, militants loyal to one of the STC’s leaders severely beaten the former director of land and real estate in Aden, Engineer Ali Hamoud al-Takhtar, as he left his house in the center of the city.

The sources confirmed that al-Takhtar miraculously escaped death, after he sustained bleeding injuries due to beating.

The incident comes as a government official survived a similar assassination attempt in the city of Dhalea, amid a horrific escalation in liquidations and assassinations in areas controlled by the Saudi-led coalition factions in recent times.
