Supreme Political Council reviews latest developments regarding ongoing negotiations on armistice

SANAA, Oct. 02 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council in Sanaa reviewed on Sunday the latest developments regarding the ongoing negotiations on the UN armistice.

In its meeting, headed by President, Mahdi Al-Mashat, the member of the council discussed the details of the proposals submitted and the obstacles made by the Saudi-led coalition side so that there are no clear commitments towards the humanitarian file related to salaries and the opening of airports and ports.

The council approved the broad outlines and basic points regarding the next stage, based on the steps announced by Sanaa and directed by President Al-Mashat yesterday, with the identification of the various tasks required of all the competent authorities.

The meeting affirmed “that it is studying various options to deal with the new phase imposed by the coalition’s behavior and tools and will take the necessary measures to preserve the supreme national interest and the sacrifices of the Yemeni people, noting that it will not allow the armistice to turn into a goal as the truce was just a means to reach a final agreement.”

It also deplored the reluctance of the United Nations and its presentation of a paper that does not live up to the demands of the Yemeni people and does not establish the peace process, stressing that the Yemeni people will not be deceived by false promises and that it can extract their rights from the revenues of their oil and gas wealth being looted by the coalition and its tools.

The council called on everyone to be vigilant and fully prepared to deal with any situation as a result of the obstructions carried out by the coalition, which bears the responsibility for disrupting the peace process and its rejection of the legitimate rights of the Yemeni people and its steadfastness in the face of all conspiracies.
