Armed attack targets official in Aden

ADEN, Oct. 01 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen targeted on Saturday the house of a senior official in the city of Aden south of Yemen.

“The gunmen on a car opened fire at the house of the director of the Khor Maksar district, Awas Al-Zuhri, and fled, local sources in the city said.

The source added that the gunmen’s fire penetrated the windows of the house and provoked panic among women and children, without recording any casualties, amid accusations of members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia of being behind the attack.

The sources pointed out that a patrol of the “STC” militia arrived late to the scene to open an investigation into the attack.

Aden city is witnessing a security chaos that some human rights activists have named the city of terror and ghosts due to the spread of assassinations and kidnappings as a result of the spread of militias, with foreign funds, since the second half of 2015.
