Saudi-led coalition violates UN truce 161 times in just 24 hours

PROVINCES, Sept. 18 (YPA) – The US-backed Saudi-led coalition forces have committed 161 violations of the humanitarian and military truce, during the past 24 hours, the official Yemeni news agency Saba reported on Saturday, citing a military source.

According to the military source, the violations included 40 violations by the flight of armed reconnaissance and spy planes in the airspace of the provinces of Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Jawf, Saada, Hodeida, Bayda and the border fronts.

The source pointed out that two violations were detected by firing rocket attacks on one of the headquarters of the army forces in Al-Zaher district of Bayda governorate, which resulted in the death of one and the injury of another one, as well as destroying two military pickup vehicles. Moreover, the coalition’s mercenaries fired towards the positions of the army and the popular committees in Hays in Hodeidah governorate.

He reported that a breach had been recorded by creating fortifications in the north of al-Hanajer in al-Jabalaya area of Tuhayta district in the same province.

The source confirmed the monitoring of 91 violations by gunfire at the homes of citizens, army sites and the popular committees in Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada, Dhalea, and Hodeida, and in the fronts of the border.

He also reported that 37 violations were registered with artillery shelling by mercenaries on the provinces of Marib, Hajjah, Saada, and Hodeida, and on the fronts behind the border, as well as targeting the sites of the army and the popular committees in the Al-Qalaq al-Sharqi, Malaa,  Al-Kasara and Raghwan areas in  Marib.

Artillery shelling also targeted army and committee sites in Haradh, Bani Hassan, Al-Mazraq and Al-Tina areas in Hajjah provinces, as well as in Al-Madafin, al-Boqa and Al-Malahidh areas in Saada province, according to the source.

The source added that intense artillery shelling of the mercenaries targeted the positions of the army and the popular committees in the north-east of Hays in Hodeidah, and in Maqbana  of Taiz, as well as Al-Amoud in Wadi Jarrah and separate areas in Najran.
