HADRAMOUT, Sept. 14 (YPA) – The new governor of Hadramout, in the Saudi-backed government Mabkhout bin Madi, dealt a severe blow to the Islah party in the province.
Bin Madi issued a decision to dismiss the party’s long arm, Essam bin Habrish al-Kathiri, and appoint engineer Hisham Mohammed al-Saidi, assistant deputy governor to manage the affairs of the districts
Governor bin Madi has authorized al-Saidi to carry out the works of the directorates and the executive offices starting from Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
Last July, a member of the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council, Maj. Gen. Faraj al-Bahsani, issued a decision to suspend Essam al-Kathiri from work, which was met with widespread local rejection.
The new decision to remove al-Kathiri comes amid extensive moves by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) to expel the forces of the First Military Region loyal to General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar and deploy the Hadrami elite forces.
