Update: About 6 members of UAE militia killed in Abayn attack

ABYAN, Sept. 12 (YPA) – About 6 members of UAE militia were killed and others wounded on Monday , including a prominent leader, in armed attack in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

Local sources said that the attack, which targeted military vehicles belonging to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia, with two explosive devices, leading also to the killing of the commander of the “103rd Brigade”, Abdul Qadir Al-Jaari, in Mudiyah district.

The sources indicated that the dead and wounded in the ranks of the “STC” militia, most of whom were from Radfan in Lahj, and transferred to Aden.

The tribes of the central regions of Abyan called for the general mobilization to confront the “STC” militia coming from Al-Dhalea and Lahj, in response to the declared war on them and accusing them of “terrorism”.

It is expected that a number of Abyan tribes, along with Khobar al-Maraqsha and Lawdar tribes, would organize to confront the elements that the “STC” brought from Dhalea and Lahj to impose the control over those areas under the pretext of their affiliation with terrorist elements.

A southern leader, Adel Al-Hasani, had confirmed, earlier in the day, that the tribes of Abyan and Shabwa formed the so-called “popular and tribal resistance” to confront “Bin Zayed’s destructive Zionist project.”

The “Emirates” militia carried out military campaigns to pursue leaders and elements loyal to Islah Party, in various districts of Abyan and Shabwa, under the name of the war on terrorist elements.

Last week, unknown elements targeted a security point belonging to the “Security Belt” militia backed by the UAE, leaving about 35 people dead and wounded in Ahwar area of Abyan, including 7 attackers.
