Parliament stresses importance of addressing imbalances in electricity sectors

SANAA, Sept. 11 (YPA) – The Parliament in its session on Sunday stressed the importance of addressing the imbalances and shortcomings in the electricity sector to improve the electricity service, especially with regard to reconsidering electricity price fees.

The Parliament members indicated to the suffering of the citizens in Hodeida province and its neighboring areas on the western coast and the required role of the Hodeidah Support Fund in reforming and supporting the electricity sector in the province to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

For his part, the Minister of Electricity and Energy referred to the efforts made by the ministry in reducing tariffs, canceling subscriptions, improving service, collecting debt and other problems related to electricity and energy, pointing out that the ministry’s current approach is to use alternative energy sources.
