First military region deploys its tanks to confront Emirati forces in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Sept. 09 (YPA) – Tensions between  the first military region forces  loyal to the Islah party and the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia,   have escalated as mobilizations continue between the two sides to engage in an imminent battle in Yemen’s eastern Hadramout province, well-informed sources reported  on Thursday.

According to the Sources, the first military region’s forces deployed their tanks on the road linking Seiyun and Marib, and created fortified positions in the districts of Abbar, Shibam Qattn, Hajr al-Sa’ar and others.

The STC intensified its reinforcements to the city of Ataq, the center of Shabwa province, while mobilizing Hadrami elite forces after blocking roads leading to Seiyun from the side of Sah and Tarim districts, the sources said.

The same  sources confirmed the arrival of the Hadramout governor in the coalition-backed government Mabkhout bin Madhi, to the headquarters of the first military region in Seiyun to make an offer to its commander Saleh Tumis to withdraw.
