SANAA, Sept. 08 (YPA) – The Saudi authorities arrested on Thursday a senior military commander and placed him in one of its private prisons in Riyadh.
Local political sources familiar with matter said that the commander of the so-called “Sixth Military Region and the First Border Guard Brigade loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, Haykal Hantaf, was arrested when the Saudi authorities forced the Yemeni airways flight from Hadramout’s Seiyun Airport – Cairo to land at Jeddah airport,
The sources indicated that the pro-Islah leader, Hantaf, was about to flee to Cairo, and then to Turkey, as he was one of those accused of looting the dues of the coalition militants during the past years.
During the past two weeks, the arrest came after the Saudi authorities arrested, the former governor of Jawf affiliated with the coalition, Amin Al-Akimi, amid calls for his release.
