LAHJ, Sept.06 (YPA) – A commander in the armed factions belonging to the Saudi-led coalition was assassinated in Lahj province, south of Yemen.
Local sources said unknown gunmen shot the commander of the so-called “Fourth Brigade of Support – the staff of the “Yaf’a axis” of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militias, Hadar Al-Shawhti, while he was in Yafa area, amid accusations by a number of sons of the area.
This came after an armed attack targeted members of the “security belt” of the “STC”, which left 21 dead and wounded 15 others in Ahwar area, east of Abyan, as well as killing the attacking elements.
Pictures published by “STC” activists on social media, of the attacking elements bearing the slogan “Ansar al-Sharia elements”, showed al-Qaeda in the so-called “Lahj Province”.
