WORLD, Sept. 05 (YPA) Russia’s Novosti news agency reported that an explosion took place on Monday morning near the Russian embassy in the Afghan capital Kabul.
The blast reportedly took place outside the embassy gates where people were waiting for visas. Even though casualties are feared, the report has not been confirmed yet.
According to eyewitnesses, more than 20 people died and others were injured.
Reuters reported that a Russian diplomats were among those wounded in the blast.
Afghan police said a suicide bomber attacked one of the gates of the Russian embassy.
Meanwhile, Sputnik, citing a diplomatic source, reported that the bombing took place near the consular circle of the Russian embassy. The same source described the security situation in the city as difficult.
