Mahra brigades send fiery message, tribal sheikhs warn STC

MAHRA, Sept. 05 (YPA) – The governor of Mahra province, appointed by the Saudi-led coalition, Mohammed Ali Yasser, on Sunday sent a strong message in response to threats of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia to take control of the province.

STC activists on social media considered the governor’s visit to the command of the “Al-Ghaydah axis” and the “military police” camp, during which he reviewed the combat readiness, as a message of war against the threats made by the STC militia to seize control of the province, under the pretext of fighting terrorism and the rebellious elements of the Islah Party.

During his visit, Yasser directed the axis’s gunmen and the “military police” in Al-Ghaydah to back the security services and raise readiness to carry out the tasks assigned to them.

On the other hand, the sheikhs of Mahra tribes stood before the STC’s threats to spread security chaos through the elements it sent from Al-Dhalea and Yafa’, stressing the unity of the ranks among the people of Mahra, and standing up seriously to face the security challenges in the province, which is far from confrontations.

The sheikhs called on the tribesmen not to allow the sabotage elements to compromise their security and to transfer chaos from Aden, Shabwa and Abyan provinces to Mahra, warning against any follies committed by the militia and the STC followers in the province, located on the border with the Sultanate of Oman.

This comes after threats made by the STC leaders loyal to the UAE to send its militias from Aden and Abyan to take control of Mahra, as part of the military operation “Arrows of the East” that imposed its control over the Islah camps in Abyan, last week.
