SANAA, Sept. 01 (YPA) – The Supreme Judicial Council on Thursday strongly condemned and denounced the crime of kidnapping and murdering the member of the Supreme Court, Judge Mohammed Ahmed Humran.

This came in the Council’s emergency meeting held today and headed by the Council’s head, Judge Ahmed Al-Mutawake, following the cowardly criminal incident that led to the death of judge Humran after he was kidnapped from front of his house in the capital Sanaa by an armed gang.

The Judicial Council considered this heinous crime a shameful infringement against the judiciary and its affiliates and a flagrant violation of the judges’ lives, and that the death of judge Humran represented a loss to the judiciary and the country.

In this regard, the Judicial Council warned against targeting judges and launching systematic incitement campaigns to abuse and distort the status of the judiciary and its affiliates.

The Council directed the Public Prosecutor and the security authorities to investigate this crime and to carry out their duties quickly to refer the perpetrators to the judiciary to receive their deterrent punishment for what they committed.

The Supreme Judicial Council extended its deepest and sincere condolences to the children, family and relatives of the deceased and his colleagues in the judicial authority.
