SHABAWA, Aug. 23 (YPA) – Commander of the so-called “military police” of Al-Amaliqa brigades funded by the UAE, Faisal Al-Shuaibi, was injured when an explosive device went off while his vehicle was passing on Al-Abr road to the city of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa province, eastern Yemen.
It is likely that the UAE transferred the wounded from its militias to the field hospital in Balhaf gas facility, where foreign doctors are present.
Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen targeted a military vehicle belonging to the ” Al-Amaliqa” at the entrance to the city of Ataq.
The UAE-backed “Shabwa Defense” and “Al-Amaliqa” forces had taken control of the city of Ataq, after fierce confrontations with Islah Party militants led by Abdrabbo La’kab, commander of the so-called “Special Security Forces” in early August.
At the beginning of this week, the UAE tightened its military control over the Al-Uqla oil field of the Austrian oil company “OMV”, and “Ayath” facility “Sector 4”, which transports crude oil to the Al-Noshyima port on the Arabian Sea.
