WORLD, Aug. 23 (YPA) -Turkish and Syrian presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Bashar Assad may meet at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Uzbekistan in September, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported, citing sources.
The Iranian news outlet underlined that the meeting would take place on the condition of the meeting between the Turkish delegation and Al-Assad.
The news agency said Putin invited Erdogan to attend the SCO meeting in Uzbekistan and also asked Assad to take part in that meeting.
Earlier, Erdogan said Russian President Vladimir Putin invited him to the SCO meeting in Uzbekistan in September.
“The Shangai Organization Summit will be held in Uzbekistan in September. In our meeting, Putin also requested of me, and I will hopefully attend the meeting there,” Erdoğan had said.
The 2022 annual summit of the SCO Heads of State Council will be held on September 15-16 in the central Asian country.
