SANAA, Aug. 19 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology expected that rain of varying intensity would fall in most province within next 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin, the center stated that rain, accompanied by thunderstorms, would prevail over the mountainous range of the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Hajjah, Mahweet, Raymah, Bayda, Ibb, Taiz, Lahj and Dhalea.
The rains might extend to parts of the internal plateaus of the provinces of Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa and Abyan, Hajjah, Hodeida and Taiz.
It pointed out the possibility of scattered rain in parts of the deserts of the governorates of Marib, Jawf, Hadramout and Mahra.
According to the center, the monsoon would be severe, with a speed of between 25-50 knots in the Socotra archipelago and 10-20 knots in the Gulf of Aden and the eastern and southern coasts, working to disrupt the sea and high waves.
The center warned citizens not to be present in valleys and flood corridors, as well as to horizontal visibility on mountain roads as a result of rain and the formation of thick low clouds and fog.
