News reports state that UAE-backed militias taken control over ’23 Mica Brigade’ in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Aug. 16 (YPA) – Activists on social media reported that the UAE-backed militias have taken control over the first military brigade in the First Military Region in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.

The activists circulated tweets on Twitter, confirming that the “Al-Amaliqa Brigades” reinforced by the Shabwa Defense Forces, had taken control of the “23 Mica Brigade” in the first military region belonging to the Islah party, following violent confrontations during the past hours.

They confirmed that the gunmen of the brigade, led by Abdullah Mohammed Moazeb, withdrew due to the intensive bombardments launched by the UAE-backed forces.

Moreover, the Shabwa defense forces took control of the triangle point between the “Shabwa al-Abbr- Seiyun” road, and others important strategic sites on the outskirts of the Jardan district, which is administratively affiliate to Shabwa province.

Furthermore, the activists pointed out that the UAE is pushing Al-Amailiqa forces towards the Wadea border crossing with Saudi Arabia, which is under the control of Hashem al-Ahmar’s forces, who is recently in Aden, amid accusations that he looted the revenues of the port without supplying them to the central bank branch in Mukalla.

Military observers believe that the arrival of the commander of the 141st Brigade, Hashim al-Ahmar, in Aden, at the end of July, comes within the framework of the Emirati tendency to neutralize him from the confrontations on the road of  Al-Abbr – Hadramout.
