France announces departure of its last troops from Mali

MALI, Aug. 15 (YPA) – French General Staff announced on Monday that the last of its soldiers from the Barkhane force in Mali had left the country.

This announcement comes after dozens of people who presented themselves as “living forces” demonstrated in the city of Gao, the last stronghold of the French in Mali, in protest against the continued presence of the French “Barkhane” force, giving it 72 hours to leave.
