HADRAMOUT, Aug. 15 (YPA) – The so-called “First Military Region” loyal to the military leader Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar on Monday created trenches and fortifications in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.
Local sources reported that the military region sent military reinforcements to advanced sites and position near “Aqabat Ajraz” area, after the so-called “Hadrami Elite” forces funded by the UAE positioned in “Wadi Amad” area overlooking Aqabat Ajraz, in preparation for the fight.
The region’s command directed the maintenance of various medium and heavy weapons, including armored vehicles and tanks, and equipping them with ammunition, according to the sources.
The media man of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Adel Al-Madwari, stated that reconnaissance planes belonging to the UAE monitored the movements of the crowds of Islah Party militants, and what he described as “terrorist elements” in one of the region’s camps.
This comes after the Minister of Defense in the pro-coalition government, Mohsen al-Daa’ri, arrived in Sayoun city during the past few days, requesting the command of the “First Military Region” to vacate the Hadramout districts of military units, and transfer them to Marib.
Last Saturday, the UAE appointed the founder of the “Hadrami Elite” militia, Fayez Mansour Al-Tamimi, as commander of the “First Military Region” after the removal of Faraj Al-Bahsani from the position of governor and commander of the region during the past two weeks.
