Taiwan Foreign Ministry: Chinese military drills surround the island in preparation for its invasion

WORLD, Aug. 09 (YPA) – Taiwanese Foreign Minister Joseph Wu has said China is conducting air and sea exercises encircling the island, in preparation for its invasion and changing the status quo in the Asia-Pacific region.

In an interview with CNN, Joseph Wu expressed concern that “China will actually wage war against Taiwan. “But what you’re doing right now is trying to scare us, and the best way to deal with it is to show that we’re not afraid of China.”

“China has always been threatening Taiwan for years and it’s getting more serious in the last few years,” Wu said. “Whether Speaker Pelosi visits Taiwan or not, the Chinese military threat against Taiwan has always been there and that is the fact that we need to deal with.”

said Wu, added, China is trying to impose trade sanctions on Taiwan, trying to attack Taiwan either militarily or in a non-military way. Life goes on here in Taiwan and Taiwan shows greater endurance.

China recently held its largest military exercise on Taiwan in decades, in response to US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the island, which Beijing met with categorical rejection and outrage, and repeatedly strongly warned the United States and Taiwan of its consequences.
