Gunmen assassinate tribal sheikh in Taiz

TAIZ, July. 28 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen assassinated on Thursday a tribal sheikh in the areas that Saudi-backed Islah militants control over in the city of Taiz.

Local sources affirmed that the gunmen believed to be affiliated with the Islah party, opened fire towards sheikh Ammar al-Dobai and killed him with one of his companions in al-Qahera district.

The assassinations and the security chaos in the areas that under the control of Islah expanded, after the return of the Salafi leader Abu Abbas to the city last month, in additional to the Saudi-led coalition directed Tariq Afash to hand over the Islah-held camps and areas.
