Meteorology renews its warning to citizens about heavy rain

SANAA, July. 24 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology renewed on Sunday its warning to citizens to take away from water ways and valleys due to heavy rains.

In its weather bulletin, the center expected rains of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, in the western mountainous provinces from Saada in the north to Lahj in the south and might extend to Jawf, Marib, Abyan, Bayda, Shabwa and Hadramout.

It pointed to strong winds would range between 25-35 knots in the Socotra Archipelago and 15-25 knots in the Gulf of Aden, the eastern and southern coasts.

The center called on motorists to drive carefully on mountainous roads as a result of the rains that might lead to mud and rockslides.
