STC plans to overthrow Riyadh-formed Presidential Council in Aden

ADEN, July. 20 (YPA) – UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the city of Aden has planned to overthrow the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council led by Rashad Al-Alimi.

According to media sources, several leaders of the STC held a meeting in which they condemned the deliberate starvation of the militia forces by obstructing the payment of salaries for those units 6 months ago.

The sources added that these leaders decided to start implementing escalatory steps within 72 hours before moving to broader measures, starting with closing the borders of the southern provinces with the northern provinces, and preventing the entry of travelers to Aden.

They pointed out that in the event that the demands for the payment of salaries of the STC forces continue to be ignored, it would take the escalatory measures representing the control of the revenue sources in Aden, including the central bank and the southern provinces.
