Pro-Islah Security officer survives assassination attempt in Shabwa

SHABWA, Jul. 19 (YPA) – The commander of the so-called “Special Security Forces” loyal to Islah party in Shabwa province has survived an assassination attempt in Ataq city on Tuesday, Belqees Net media outlet reported.

According to the website, Commander Abdurabh Lakab, survived an assassination attempt but one of his guards was killed in the attack that targeted his convey while he was passing in Ataq city today morning.

The forces of the so-called “Shabwa Defense” loyal to the UAE targeted Lakab, killing one of his guards and injuring two others, the report said.

Two personal of “Shabwa Defense” were injured in the clashes that broke out following the attack, according to the report.

Local sources reported the Special Security Forces deployed in Ataq after the incident, amid the tense situation in the city, while patrols and armored vehicles of the Shabwa defense forces disappeared from the streets.
