Meteorology Center warns of torrential rains in several provinces

SANAA, Jul. 12 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology on Tuesday expected rain of varying intensity in several provinces, and strong winds that disturb the sea in the Socotra archipelago province and the eastern and southern coasts during the next 24 hours.

In its daily weather bulletin, the center stated that sporadic rains of varying intensity are expected in the western mountainous provinces from Saada in the north to Lahj in the south, especially on Jawf, Saada, Amran, Lahj, Dhalea, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Mahweet, and Hajjah and areas from western Dhamar and Sanaa provinces.

Rain is also likely to fall on parts of the eastern and southern areas, especially the valley and hills of the coasts of Mahra, Hadramout, and Shabwa, extending to Abyan, Bayda and Marib.

The center indicated that scattered rain fell on parts of the western and southwestern coasts and the adjusting areas.

It is possible that strong winds will disturb the sea and the waves will rise in the Socotra archipelago, the Gulf of Aden, the eastern and southern coastal strip, and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, according to the center.

The center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected from torrential flows in hills and valleys, mud and rock slides, and low visibility on roads and mountain turns during and after the rain.
