SHABWA, July. 11 (YPA) – Local sources in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen, indicated on Monday that the “O.M company resumed oil production from al-Oqla field in the province.
The sources said that the company refused to employ Yemeni workers from the province’s sons, which provoked angry reactions among the people of Arma district, northeast of the governorate.
The sources added that the company resumed work in the oil field under the direct supervision of the “Giant Forces” backed by the UAE, which had announced in early June that it had received al- Oqla fields from the Islah party’s gunmen.
Last June, the Ministry of Oil of the Saudi-led coalition-backed government in Aden had worked to sell the number five field in Al-Oqla area to an unknown company.
