Humanitarian Affairs Council stresses importance to enhance cooperation with WHO

SANAA, July. 05 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Ibrahim Al-Hamali, stressed importance to enhance cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and its activities in Yemen.

He urged to expand the activities and interventions of the WHO to meet the provision of services in hospitals and health facilities to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

This came during his meeting on Tuesday with the director of the United Nations Office “OCHA”, Sajjad Mohammad Sajid, and the representative of the World Health Organization, Adham Rashad Ismail, to discuss the health situation and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation and the proposed solutions and treatments.

Al-Hamali stressed the importance of the emergency response to face any emergency and supporting the health sector and providing medical devices and supplies, as well as to address the obstacles that may face the work of the organization.
