Newspaper: Russia prepares insult to US that will be the second in two years

WORLD, Jun. 29 (YPA) – Russia is preparing to “insult” the United States, and that the “insult” will be the second of its kind to be inflicted on the United States in two years, The National Review reported

Journalist Michael Brendan Dougherty, said in his article, that Russia’s victory in Ukraine would be the second largest defeat for the United States in two years after the “humiliating” US withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Washington’s attempts to impose additional costs on Moscow during hostilities in Ukraine would make the Russian side’s victory even greater if the Ukrainian armed forces failed to achieve a decisive strategic withdrawal and defeated their forces in Donbas.

“Vladimir Putin will be able to declare victory not only over the nationalists in Ukraine, but also against western powers,” Dougherty said.

This scenario of ending the conflict would sow panic among NATO member states, the journalist said.

“After humiliation in Afghanistan, this will be the second largest defeat for the US-funded and trained military in the past two years,” he said. “The risk is real.”
