SHABWA, June.28 (YPA) – UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias acquired on Tuesday the most important security files in the oil-rich province of Shabwa, east of Yemen.
According to southern media outlets, head of the STC, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, issued a decision appointing Mohammed Al-Buhar, the former leader of the Shabwani Elite factions, as the commander of the anti-terror faction in the province.
Al-Buhar and a number of leaders of the pro-Emirati factions had arrived two days ago to Ataq city of the province at the invitation of the governor, Awad Ibn Al-Wazir.
The decision would strengthen the STC’s grip on the file of combating terrorism in the south, allowing it to target its opponents in the Saudi-backed Islah party on the same pretext that the STC enabled to expel them and abuse them in Aden.
